Elizabeth Victoria BENSON^17,20 was born on 17 Jul 1892 in 16 Dagmar Road, Southall, Middlesex.²¹ She was living on 31 Mar 1901 in 8 Denmark Road, Southall.¹⁵ She died on 30 Sep 1953 in Hillingdon Hosp, Middlesex. Her address at the time of her death was 2 Ferrymead Gardens, Greenford, Middlesex. At the time of her wedding she was living at 5 Queens Road, Southall which is also the address given on the birth certificate of her illegitimate son George Henry.

Elizabeth is supposed to have been engaged to a man called Frank who died during the first world war. It is reasonable to assume therefor that Frank was the father of George Henry but there is no proof of this as there is no father's name on the birth certificate.

Elizabeth Victoria BENSON and Roland Victor LAW were married on 31 Jul 1919 in Baptist Chapel, Southall, Middlesex.¹⁰ Roland Victor LAW (son of Robert Benjamin LAW and Betsey BENTLEY) was born on 28 Apr 1888 in Sparrows Green, Wadhurst, Sussex. He was living on 5 Apr 1891 in Flishinghurst, Cranbrook, Kent.²² He was living on 31 Mar 1901 in Cranbrook, Kent.²³ He died on 1 Nov 1951 in West Middlesex Hospital, Isleworth, Middlesex. His address at the time of his death was: 2 Ferrymead Gardens, Greenford, Middlesex. In the 1901 census Roland is listed as being an "Coblers Apprentice".

Before World War I he was a valet and a butler.

Before he married Elizabeth Victoria Benson, Roland was engaged to another woman who died of TB.

At the time of his marriage to Elizabeth he was a wardrobe dealer and was living at 2 Dudley Road Southall.

Roland's daughter, Daphne May, who also believed that shop he and his father worked for was called Corbier. She remembers the Roland worked as a delivery man for the shop and has recollections of them having the use of a motor cycle and side car. Daphne told a story of her mother riding on the pillion seat while her father drove and that she was put in the side car and was packed in with cushions.

When he died in 1951 Roland was a warehouse packer. Elizabeth Victoria BENSON and Roland Victor LAW had the following children:

Doris Maud LAW was born on 24 Aug 1922 in 2 Dudley Road, Southall, Middlesex. She died on 21 Jun 1990 in Cronulla, New South Wales, Australia. Emmigrated to Australia with brother Robert (approx 1965). Went out by ship called "Castle Felice".

George Henry BENSON was born on 13 Nov 1917 in 5 Queens Road, Norwood.²⁰ The address of his place of birth according to his certificate, 5 Queens Road was, according to Daphne May Law, the address of Ada Benson and Thomas Hill. It is also the address that his mother gave when she married Roland Law in 1919.

Noted on his birth certificate is that George was adopted.
