7. Thomas William BENSON was born on 8 Jul 1825 in Shoreditch.2,4 He was christened on 3 Aug 1825 in St Leonards, Shoreditch, London.5 He was living on 30 Mar 1851 in 97 Britannia Street, Shoreditch, Middlesex.6 In 1851 Thomas is married to Francis and is working as a Cooper Journeyman. He was living on 9 Jul 1855 in 6 White House Court, St Luke, London.7 He was living on 7 Apr 1861 in 1 Bull Yard, St.Botolph, Altergate.8 Thomas is still working as a Copper in 1861 He was living on 2 Apr 1871 in North Hythe, Heston, Middlesex.9 By the time of the 1871 census Thomas is still a Cooper. He died between 1871 and 1881. On both the birth and marriage certificate of his son Henry and Wilmot Victoria Page, Thomas is shown to be a "Cooper" by profession. Though on the birth certificate actual shows Thomas a "Cooper Journeyman".

Thomas William BENSON and Frances KELLY were married on 22 Mar 1851 in The Parish Church of St Giles Cripplegate, London.10 The marriage certificate notes that both Thomas and Frances where "of Full Age". Frances KELLY (daughter of Charles KELLY and Sarah) was born before 7 Feb 1826 in Aldergate.4 She was christened on 7 Feb 1826 in St Sepulchre, London.11 She was living on 31 Mar 1851 in 97 Britannia Street, Shoreditch, Middlesex.6 In 1851 Francis is working as a Silk Winder. She was living on 9 Jul 1855 in 6 White House Court, St Luke, London.12 She was living on 7 Apr 1861 in 1 Bull Yard, St.Botolph, Altergate.8 She was living on 2 Apr 1871 in North Hythe, Heston, Middlesex.9 She was living on 3 Apr 1881 in The Green Cottages, Southall, Middlesex.13 Francis is a widow by the 1881 census and is making her living as a Housekeeper or Lodging House Keeper. As she is Head of the house hold it is possible that she is renting rooms to Joseph and William Kelly who also appear on the return. She died after 3 Apr 1881. Charles BENSON was born about 1853 in Shoreditch.4 He was living on 7 Apr 1861 in 1 Bull Yard, St.Botolph, Altergate.8 He was living on 2 Apr 1871 in North Hythe, Heston, Middlesex.9 By the time of the 1871 census Charles is working as a Labourer. He was living on 2 Apr 1881 in The Green Cottages, Southall, Middlesex.13 Still living with his mother at the time of the 1881 census, Charles is working as a Labourer in the Gas Works.
