Henry BENSON was born on 9 Jul 1855 in 6 White House Court, St Luke, London.¹⁴ He was living on 7 Apr 1861 in 1 Bull Yard, St.Botolph, Altergate.⁸ He was living on 2 Apr 1871 in North Hythe, Heston, Middlesex.⁹ He was living on 5 Apr 1891 in 27 Dagmar Road, Southall, Middlesex.. He was living on 31 Mar 1901 in 8 Denmark Road, Southall.¹⁵ Council Employee.

When Henry's daughter Elizabeth Victoria was born in July 1892 he was a stoker in gas factory. We can also deduce that he was illiterate as Elizabeth Victoria's birth certificate has an "X" and is shown as "the mark of Henry Benson, father". At that time he was living at 16 Dagmar Road, Norwood.

Henry was still employed as a Stoker in the Gas Factory when his first wife, (Wilmott) Victoria Benson (nee Page) died in 1893.

By 1901 he was a General Labourer.

Henry BENSON and Wilmott Victoria PAGE were married on 19 May 1878 in Norwood Parish Church, Norwood, Middlesex.¹⁰ Wilmott Victoria PAGE (daughter of Jonathan PAGE and Sophia SUTTON) was born on 4 Mar 1861 in Coxwell Street, Farringdon, Berkshire. She was living on 5 Apr 1891 in 27 Dagmar Road, Southall, Middlesex..¹⁶ She died on 12 Sep 1893 in 16 Dagmar Road, Southall, Middlesex.¹⁷ Died of "Aortic disease of Heart". She was also known as Victoria. Known as Victoria.

Wilmott Victoria's Granddaughter, Daphne May Miller (nee Law) believed that she was half American. This fact can be born out if the Jonathan Page that is seen on teh 1881 census is the same Jonathan Page that is on her marriage certificate. His wife, Sophia, is shown on that census as having been born in Halifax, America. Exactly which Halifax is yet to be determined. Additionaly the address for Jonathan is Norwood, Middlesex where Wilmott Victoria was said to have been living when she got married. Henry BENSON and Wilmott Victoria PAGE had the following children:

Thomas A BENSON was living on 5 Apr 1891 in 27 Dagmar Road, Southall, Middlesex..16 He was born about 1891 in Southall, Middlesex.15,16 Birth date derived from 1901 census He was living on 31 Mar 1901 in 8 Denmark Road, Southall.15 Daphne May Miller (Law) remembered that Thomas lived in Hayes, Middlesex. She thinks he was a school caretaker and that he only had one eye.

Henry BENSON and Louisa were married after Aug 1893. The marriage of Henry and Louisa is derived from the know fact the his first wife died on 12 September 1893 and he and Louisa are shown on the 1901 census. Louisa¹⁸ was born about 1853 in Cirencester, Gloucester.¹⁵ She was living on 31 Mar 1901 in 8 Denmark Road, Southall.¹⁵ Information about Louisa was derived from the 1901 census. It is therefor assumed that she is the second wife of Henry Benson
