14. Eliza GURR was born in 1823 in Smarden, Kent.^22,23 Derived from 1901 census. She was living on 30 Mar 1851 in Smarden, Kent.²⁴ She was living on 2 Apr 1871 in Days Cottages, Smarden, Kent.²⁵ She was living on 3 Apr 1881 in 1 Mill Lane, Borden, Kent.²³ She was living on 5 Apr 1891 in Nub's Green, Smarden, Kent.²⁶ She was living on 31 May 1901 in Nub's Green, Smarden, Kent.²⁷ She died Bronchitis and congestion of the lungs on 22 Jan 1908 in Smarden, Kent.²⁸ As Eliza appears on the 1901 census she must have died after that date. The only record of a death of an Eliza Law after 1901 in Smarden produced an odd certificate. The informant Mary Ann King who, by the way was illiterate stated that her husbands name was Charles. However looking back to the 1901 census there is a Charles Law living nest door to Eliza and Robert. It is possible that Charles was Roberts younger brother and looked after Eliza in her old age until he himself died although no record of his death has yet been found. Eliza's maiden name was derived from her son, Robert's, birth certificate.

By 1901 they where living alone Robert (Jnr) having married and Anne either left home or married.

Eliza GURR and Robert LAW were married on 13 Apr 1844 in Smarden, Kent.²¹ Robert LAW²¹ (son of Robert LAW) was born about 1818 in Smarden, Kent.^22,23 Derived from 1881 and 1901 Census He was living on 30 Mar 1851 in Smarden, Kent.²⁴ He was living on 2 Apr 1871 in Days Cottages, Smarden, Kent.²⁵ He was living on 3 Apr 1881 in 1 Mill Lane, Borden, Kent.²³ He was living on 5 Apr 1891 in Nub's Green, Smarden, Kent.²⁶ He was living on 31 Mar 1901 in Nub's Green, Smarden, Kent.²⁷ He died Senile Decay on 12 Jul 1903 in Smarden, Kent.²⁹ Robert's death was certified by Philip Ballard. His daught AP Parks (Ann Pearson Law) was present at his death. Robert's occupation at the time of his death was a Farm Labourer.
At the time of his son, Robert's birth, this Robert was a Farm labourer.
