She died Bronchitis and congestion of the lungs on 22 Jan 1908 in Smarden, Kent.10 As Eliza appears on the 1901
census she must have died after that date. The only record of a death of an Eliza
Law after 1901 in Smarden produced an odd certificate. The informant Mary Ann
King who, by the way was illiterate stated that her husbands name was Charles.
However looking back to the 1901 census there is a Charles Law living nest door
to Eliza and Robert. It is possible that Charles was Roberts younger brother
and looked after Eliza in her old age until he himself died although no record
of his death has yet been found. Eliza's maiden name was derived from her son,
Robert's, birth certificate.
