8. Ishmael LAW was born about 1858 in Smarden, Kent.18,19 He was living on 2 Apr 1871 in Days Cottages, Smarden, Kent.6 On the 1881 census, Ishmael is shown as being a Butcher. The family at that time are living at 11 Theobald Road, Croydon. Also living in the household were:

William Mills, unmarried, 21, born in Tonbridge Wells, Kent. Engine Fitter.
James Couper, married, 39, born in Dundee, Forfar, Scotland. Pattern Maker.
James Charles McAndrew, married, 21, born in Kingston, Elgin, Scotland. Millwright.

By the 1891 census Ishmael, Harriet and Rosina are still living in Crowyden though they seem o have moved to 22 Pitlake.

Ishmael LAW and Harriett were married. Harriett was born about 1857 in St Ives, Huntingdon.19 Ishmael LAW and Harriett had the following children:
