1. John MILLER was born in 1776.^1,2 On his death certificate John was 69 at the time of his death. He was living on 6 Jun 1841 in Wilmington, Kent.¹ He died Pneumonia on 8 Dec 1845 in Hawley, Wilmington, Kent.² The informant of John's death was Sussannah Taylor who was a neighbour of John and his family in the 1841 census. The death was not registered until 12 January 1846. Agricultural Labourer.

Date of Birth derived from the 1841 census, showing John and his family living in Hawley, would mean that John was born in 1779. However, according to the death certificate John was 69 when he died in 1845 making his birth year 1876. It was not uncommon for ages of adults to be rounded to the nearest five years for the 1841 census.

According to his death certificate John was employed as a coachman.

John appears to have moved himself and his family around north Kent a few times with his eldest son, George, being born in Bletchingley and Sarah, John, Thomas and William born in Sutton at Hone.

Elizabeth was born about 1778 in Shorne, Kent.³ She was living on 6 Jun 1841 in Wilmington, Kent.¹ She was living on 30 Mar 1851 in Orange Tree Row, Wilmington, Kent.⁴ In the 1851 census, Elizabeth is "Employed Powdermill" at the age of 73. She is also described as a widow and is living with her son William, a "shoemaker". It looks like Elizabeth was born in Shorne but the writing on the census is not too clear. John MILLER and Elizabeth had the following children:
