31. Thomas William MILLER was born on 18 Jul 1880 in 7 Canonbury Street, Islington, Middlesex.^37,38 Thomas's father is quoted as being a Police Constable in his birth certicate He was living on 3 Apr 1881 in Spencer Road, Acton, Middlesex.³⁴ He was living on 30 Jan 1931 in 43 Granville Avenue, Hounslow.³⁹ Little is known about Thomas William. Ernest William Thomas thought thaat he was a woodworker at Wisden's and in some way was involved in the making of cricket bats.

On the 1901 census while still living with his father, Thomas is described as a carpenter a fact verified by his marriage certificate and the birth certificate of his son William Ernest Miller.

Is is believed that the family moved to Hounslow in the 1920s.

According to both his mother and father's death certificates he lived at 43 Granville Avenue Hounslow at the time of their deaths.

Thomas William MILLER and Rose Annie BOWDEN were married on 29 Jul 1911 in The Parish Church of St. Mark, Clarkenwell, London.⁴⁰ It is interesting to note that the witnesses to the wedding where William Lewis and Thomas' sister May Emma Miller. Rose Annie BOWDEN was born about 1888. Rose was a paitient at the University College Hospital in 1901. Thomas William MILLER and Rose Annie BOWDEN had the following children:

William Ernest Bowden MILLER⁴¹ was born on 22 Feb 1913 in 13 Keplar Road, Stockwell.³⁸ He died in 1970. Known as Bill, he was the eldest son of Thomas William Miller. No record is available of his pre-war occupation but it is know that he was a private in the East Surrey Regiment (TA) and in consequence was in action in France at the start of the 1939-45 war. Around the time of Dunkirk his unit fell into enemy hands at Liege, but with a friend he avoided capture. After a lot of walking, hiding and general hardship they eventually got to Gibraltar. Crossing Spain, which was officially neutral, they were spotted and imprisoned. A friendly priest is said to have intervened on their behalf and in due course they were returned home by the Navy.

Bill died still a bachelor. It is understood that he had a leg amputated due to some complications with his war time experiences and that his death was associated with this.
