HERBERT26 was born
on 11 Feb 1859 in 2 Elizabeth Place, Dartford, Kent. He was living
on 3 Apr 1881 in 18 Little Queen Street, Dartford, Kent.27 He immigrated in May 1889 to Brandon, Manatoba.
He died on 28 Mar 1951 in Vancouver B.C., Canada. He was buried
in Mountain View Cemetary, Fraser Street, Vancouver. Buried in the
Southwester Region of the Cemetary. Ref BCGS-C-62. Place of burial from a newspaper
cutting and data held on the British Columbia Cemetary Finding Aid. According
to the 1881 census William and his wife, Alice, where living at 18 Little Queen
Street, Dartford, Kent.
Emigrated to Canada in May 1889 and may have visited again some years later (maybe
1912).
Following a letter from Earnest William Thomas Miller published in the Vancouver
Sun contact was made with his granddaughters, Helen McLean and June Bean who
have supplied a lot of data for the Herbert branch of the family. William Charles
HERBERT and Alice Annie OVERY were married on 15 Aug 1880 in Highfield Road Chapel,
Dartford, Kent. At the time of thier marriage William was a Laborer
and Alice was a millhand.
The address on thier Marriage Certificate for William is given as Great Queen
Street, Dartford and Lowfield Street, Dartford for Alice. Alice
Annie OVERY was born on 11 Feb 1859 in Dartford, Kent. She was
living on 3 Apr 1881 in 18 Little Queen Street, Dartford, Kent.27 She immigrated in May 1889 to Brandon, Manatoba.
She died in 1949 in Vancouver B.C., Canada. She was buried in Mountain
View Cemetary, Fraser Street, Vancouver. Buried in the Southwester
